Respite Connection & Trading Services
I understand that scheduled, reliable relief is not a luxury—it is a necessity for mental health and family sustainability.
Respite Connection Service
- How it Works: I link caregivers directly with respite workers vetted by me, based on experience with complex needs, and alignment with my DEI values. This removes the major barrier of searching for and vetting qualified care, and creates a unified space for respite workers & caregivers to receive training and referrals in their area.
- Why This Is Crucial: Access to trusted, qualified respite is a direct, measurable tool for preventing burnout and maintaining caregiver mental health.
Respite Trading Service
- How it Works: I facilitate a peer-to-peer respite exchange by securely connecting local caregivers who are actively seeking a break. Caregivers can trade off scheduled respite time (e.g., “I cover your Tuesday afternoon; you cover my Friday morning”). This allows caregivers with limited access to qualified respite workers to receive a “break”. I know firsthand how scarce respite workers are and how financially difficult it can be. Through the trading program, you can take space from the people you support and help support another family in your community, providing relief from burnout related to your particular family and the family you are trading with. This service is also SSAH eligible.
- Why This Is Crucial: This highly innovative service fosters community interdependence and provides an affordable, reciprocal path to the relief needed, reinforcing the belief that community support sustains the caregiver.
